Perry is she is Chicago native who was birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mom in both of the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. Her parents did not allow her to perform with her parents till the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the stress it would result in. Perry shy and timid to perform in the school, began performing in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new acquaintances. Perry started her acting career in New York after graduation, performing in minor parts in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry come back to California and find work as a theater actress. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. In 2015, she appeared alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC film The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry had the role of a political thriller Scandal along with her father. Also, she was cast on The CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The character was assigned an audition to the actress, despite the fact that she was a cousin to the role.
